The Tale of a Tooth...

My teeth have been slowly disappearing in the past few years (this has something to do with my early love of chewing wood). Every time mom asks Dr. Wingert (my vet) all he says is the following: "They don't look bad for bulldog teeth". She accepts this and moves on..

I wanted to say something similar to mom a couple of weekends ago when Isabella fell and chipped her front tooth: "They don't look bad for Isabella teeth"...well and that was just the beginning since a week later she fell again in the kitchen. This time she didn't chipped her tooth, it just bled. Mom is convinced that if the tooth wasn't dead the first time, by the second fall the poor tooth is a goner. It is just a matter of time before it turns black.

Diet change...

Mom's family visited during the summer. I always love having more people around, plus they feed me all the treats I beg for...lovely!
Lately I have been switching my diet. I have a new found love for everything vegetarian...green beans, peas and some fruits are abundant under Isabella's chair at dinner time. I like it! I have not been able to taste the corn, she doesn't share that one...

Ocean Visit!

This is one of the pictures Mom and Dad brought back from vacation. Seems the Isabella was having fun. All I have to say is that I'm glad I missed it. I don't want any sand under my tail!

Where's Mom?

It's been a weird week. Mom has been curiously absent (Dad said something about a trip to London, whatever that thing is). So, I'm stuck with squealing little rat girl (I promise I'm not jealous) and Dad. For some reason, he's been playing a lot with her, then talking with Grandma Angela, Grandpa Lucho, and Tia Natalia on Skype (Oh yeah, I know what that is...Shiny box talking through the thing called Internet).

While Mom has been gone, Dad has had a lot of late night conference calls with Australia, the Middle East, and Asia. Little squealing rat girl (hereafter referred to as Isabella) gets fussy during the calls, so Dad has to pick her up and put her in the Bjorn. Of course, when Isabella gets squealing (you see where I get her name?), then Dad has to mute the line. It's kind of funny when he doesn't do it fast enough. People on the call start laughing at him. Someone in Australia asked him a question, and Isabella screamed as soon as he un-muted the line. One of the execs on the call joked that Isabella answered the question quite well (aka "HELL NO").

Overall, Dad and Isabella have gotten along very well (guess who that leaves out? NO BUTT SCRATCHING FOR ME). They have been spending time after dinner on the basement floor, rolling around with Raton Perez and some books. Dad plays his Xbox for a while after Isabella falls asleep with him, and every now and again, he will scratch my back.

Yesterday (Thur, Fri 11. Yes, I know my calendar), the house was crazy. Peggy came over to clean (I LOVE HER, she scratches my back too), but then there were a couple of other strangers with really loud things. One guy went upstairs and fixed the tub where a stone shelf fell in it. Dad kept saying "I hope wifey likes it, she is the quality control around here". I'm not sure what that means, but I think it means Dad may have to call the guy again and again and again. :-)

Then a guy came over to clean the carpet. He even cleaned my scrap of carpet that Dad gave me in the living room. It looks great, but Dad won't let me on it until Mom gets home. What am I going to do, rub my butt on it? (Hmmmmmm, not a bad idea at all).

Dad was emailing his friend Manisha in Michigan, and I heard that she has one like Isabella. That's all I need....two squealing little rats around. Luckily, I think they are going to go visit Manisha instead of them coming down here, which means that I get to go stay with Uncle Bo and Aunt Lisa and Rookie!!!! I can't wait. I love them. They are nice (and they scratch my butt).

For some reason, Mom and Dad thought Manisha's daughter Milana was super cute. I hope that doesn't mean that they want another little rat around here. Personally, I think one is enough. Of course, I'm still trying to put her up for sale on Craigslist or ship her to Colombia. Check out the picture with this post. I almost had her shipped.... Fear not, I'll keep trying. I like it better when I rule the roost.

Until next time, stay warm (I LOVE THE SNOW), and take care.

Happy New Year!!!

This have really been some fun couple of months. I'm constantly being abused by this peep squeak of a baby. Fortunately I was lucky enough to be away from her for more than three weeks while they took their yearly vacation down to Colombia. I stayed with my favorite aunt and uncle (Lisa and Bo). They took me on many adventures, I LOVE being in the car!
I hear Isabella actually behaved herself during the trip, both mom and dad were very pleased with how she did during the long plane rides.
She has already started rolling (did so on xmas eve) and got her first tooth (New Year's day). Now we look even more similar...maybe she will be as cute as me!
While in Colombia, they apparently spent all of their time enjoying the weather, and taking presents to all the children in Valentina's school and a home for single moms. They also sent some throught the church to a home housing over 300 at risk children. They were very thankful to all the family memebers who donated gifts. I will post some of the pictures soon.
Isabella has been moved to the wobbler classroom, she is the smallest one there. However, don't been fooled, she has months of practice defending herself from my slobber attacks...those other children will need to be on alert. Maybe I can actually train them...
Overall, I'm looking forward to this year. I have a feeling I will be running around even more in the next couple of months. I'll keep you posted.

4 months - 4 Meses

It has been 4 months since this baby arrived and she is still here. I'm wondering when she will go back to where she came from...I'm starting to think she will never go away.

She had the Dr. appointment last week, and I heard she had 2 shots and she didn't like it very much...now she knows how I feel when I get vaccinated.

Isabella is growing a lot, and seems to be very funny. I can see mom and dad laughing when they try to feed her cereal and she makes funny faces and spits it out.

She loves to be in the exersaucer, and I love it too. I take advantage of how low it is to the ground and then I lick her when dad has his back turned. She screams, I laugh...payback!

Halloween was fun around here, both her and I got dressed as flowers. She was ugly, I was cute.

It is starting to get cold again and I'm enjoying the time out in the yard with the leaves. I really like the Fall.

It's been too long!

Our family has been very busy in the past couple of months. They have been going to weddings, mom has travelled and Isabella continues to grow. I continue to sleep and snore.

Here is a recent picture of Isabella, mom has been working hard to teach her to stick out her tongue the same way I do. That is because mom wants to make her as pretty as I am.

I'm still here people

So after a long hiatus, I finally made my blog post a couple of days ago to show the world a two month old, screaming little baby that has plagued my life. Something tells me that Mom and Dad aren't going to send her to the pound....

I guess it really isn't that bad. She starts screaming each day around 4 - 5 AM, which interrupts my beauty sleep (no comments from the peanut gallery here). I'm a bulldog, I need my beauty sleep! I normally fall back asleep after Mom feeds Isabella, but then Dad comes down and starts banging around in the kitchen to make Mom's breakfast and lunch. He has the audacity to try to kick me outside then as well.... I mean, seriously, who in their right mind starts the day at 5 AM? This isn't the military!!!!

Mom and Dad disappear for a few hours during the day (they call it work, I call it a relief), then they come back in around 5 - 6 PM with the kid again, and she is DEMANDING! I think I need to start crying like that for attention. She gets food whenever she screams. I think I might get ice cream....

Dad left for a couple of days to Boston this week, and Mom was more frazzled than normal (never apply the word "frazzled" to her hair though...Dad got smacked one day for that). She made it through though, and Dad is back. He deserting her again today to go play golf with Uncle Bo and Grandpa Denny. But as a bright point, I'm going to have a lot of people to drool on tonight. Mom and Dad are having their friends over for the Chiefs game, and the kids like to come pet me. It's just like it should be...I'm the center of attention.

Well, my paws are tired, so no more for now. More to follow later when I'm stuffed with leftover food the kids didn't want (they sneak me their pizza scraps...Yummy).

Month 2 - Mes 2

I know it has been a long time since I have written, but seriously who has time with a screaming baby?
Isabella has been all over the place already and she just turned two months today.
To briefly recap she has visited several restaurants including:

Paradise India
Piropos
Fogo de Chao
Lidia's
Melting Pot
Oklahoma Joe's
BBQ Shack

She has also been to the lake, on a boat and then visited a vineyard in Herman MO. This baby gets to travel more than I do!

Last night she slept 8 hours for the first time, Mom about cried of joy.

Mom has been back to work for 2 weeks now, and they seem to be doing well with little sleep but a lot of love.

Mom and Dad were very happy and thankful for all the help they got from Grandma Angela, she stayed with us for 6 weeks I miss all the food she gave m
e behind mom's back...

I hope to be posting more often, enjoy Isabella's one and two month old pictures

Week 1 - DONE

Mom and Dad brought home this little squealing rat a few days ago...  It's been a full week now, and it shows no signs of going away.  I think that I'm stuck with it.  Luckily, Mom's family is here right now, so I can drool on them for a while, and they pay attention to me.  For some reason, Mom and Dad are busy drooling over this little raton (I think they call it Isabella).  She is actually kind of like me....  She sleeps most of the day, only waking up to get some food and stretch her arms.  Hmmm, maybe I can get to like this little thing.

I'm posting a picture of her with Mom and Dad to show you how much prettier I am than her.  I mean, seriously...  Who would wear purple bows?

Happy B-Day! - Feliz Cumpleaños!

Dad celebrated his b-day today. Mom and Dad spent the day together working in the bathroom and ate indian buffet for lunch. The bathroom is progressing very nicely. As long as Isabella stays in mom's belly, dad thinks he will be done with the shower tomorrow. Dad should get his wish.

New ride for Isabella - Nueva nave para Isabella

I don't mean the Corolla, I mean Isabella's new ride... The McLaren. My Grandpa Lucho, Grandma Angela, and my aunt Natalia got her the stroller. I wanted to ride in it, but Mom and Dad didn't let me. Why is it that this little ball in Mom's tummy gets all the cool stuff, and I just get a new $10 kennel liner? Something tells me that this isn't going to be fair... I mean, seriously, throw me a bone here (literally!)....

Champi!!!!

I got to see Champi this weekend. As always it is SOOOOO nice to have him stop by even if it is for just one day or two. Mom and dad were both very happy to see him as well. Mom said Isabella must have liked him too because she was kicking mom a lot while he was here.

Here is a picture dad took this morning, you can tell the summer and the 36 weeks of pregnancy are taking a toll on Mom since she is puffy as a blow fish.

The end of an era - El fin de una era

Today mom and dad said good-bye to their trusty pink Corolla. They did so with mixed feelings. I'm including a picture of their new Corolla, as you can see this time it's gray.

More Bathroom news

Remodeling seems to be going well, I see a lot of trash sacs and I hear dad yelp in pain a lot...a sign of progress. The countertops are in, and the faucets installed. I know dad painted last night and after he was done he told mom he hated the color as it reminded him of baby puke...well I guess he won't need that as a reminder very soon.

He is planning on working as much as possible during the weekend, so their plans of going to the kiddo's party on Sunday have changed. That means I get to keep them all to myself!

Still to do:
Shower
Finish tub install
Floor
Toilet
Lights
and...repaint...

Poor dad has a lot of hours ahead of him, and mom has many more nights of "wobbling" up and down the hallway.

I'm including a picture of the baby puke walls

Class time!

Hmmm, Mommy has been coming home recently with a look of sheer horror. Either she has been witness to a meat packing plant, or she has gone to the newborn care and birthing classes. She muttered something about placenta and afterbirth, but I didn't understand any of it. All I caught was that I'm supposed to get a new toy that some little brat has rolled around in.... I guess that the new toy is a peace offering from the little invader that will be here in just a few weeks. I'm excited to see her, but not sure how it is going to change life for me. Will I still get to rub my butt on the couch? Will I still get to lick Mom's face during movies? Are they going to yell at me for snoring too loudly??? So many questions, so little time....

Demolition!!! Demolición!!

What are all those noises! It seems this house is about to fall. My dad has been very busy remodeling the bathroom, from what I can tell it is going very well and he is doing a great job. Here is one of the pictures...

Early Mother's Day!

Mom looks very happy, today she received some early mother's day gifts. She was very moved to see that Tontalia (aka Natalia) sent her a basket of Godiva chocolates over the mail. The basket looks amazing...I really hope she shares some with me, but I doubt it.

Isabella was very considerate and gave mom a certificate to get a massage and her nails done, that is the least she could do after all the back  pain she is causing my mommy.

Tomorrow they have their child birthing class, I'm sure dad is "really happy" to go and watch the scary videos. Then in the evening they will go over to Bo and Lisa's for dinner...I hope they take me so I can see Gus and KC!!!
