It's been a weird week. Mom has been curiously absent (Dad said something about a trip to London, whatever that thing is). So, I'm stuck with squealing little rat girl (I promise I'm not jealous) and Dad. For some reason, he's been playing a lot with her, then talking with Grandma Angela, Grandpa Lucho, and Tia Natalia on Skype (Oh yeah, I know what that is...Shiny box talking through the thing called Internet).
While Mom has been gone, Dad has had a lot of late night conference calls with Australia, the Middle East, and Asia. Little squealing rat girl (hereafter referred to as Isabella) gets fussy during the calls, so Dad has to pick her up and put her in the Bjorn. Of course, when Isabella gets squealing (you see where I get her name?), then Dad has to mute the line. It's kind of funny when he doesn't do it fast enough. People on the call start laughing at him. Someone in Australia asked him a question, and Isabella screamed as soon as he un-muted the line. One of the execs on the call joked that Isabella answered the question quite well (aka "HELL NO").
Overall, Dad and Isabella have gotten along very well (guess who that leaves out? NO BUTT SCRATCHING FOR ME). They have been spending time after dinner on the basement floor, rolling around with Raton Perez and some books. Dad plays his Xbox for a while after Isabella falls asleep with him, and every now and again, he will scratch my back.
Yesterday (Thur, Fri 11. Yes, I know my calendar), the house was crazy. Peggy came over to clean (I LOVE HER, she scratches my back too), but then there were a couple of other strangers with really loud things. One guy went upstairs and fixed the tub where a stone shelf fell in it. Dad kept saying "I hope wifey likes it, she is the quality control around here". I'm not sure what that means, but I think it means Dad may have to call the guy again and again and again. :-)
Then a guy came over to clean the carpet. He even cleaned my scrap of carpet that Dad gave me in the living room. It looks great, but Dad won't let me on it until Mom gets home. What am I going to do, rub my butt on it? (Hmmmmmm, not a bad idea at all).
Dad was emailing his friend Manisha in Michigan, and I heard that she has one like Isabella. That's all I need....two squealing little rats around. Luckily, I think they are going to go visit Manisha instead of them coming down here, which means that I get to go stay with Uncle Bo and Aunt Lisa and Rookie!!!! I can't wait. I love them. They are nice (and they scratch my butt).
For some reason, Mom and Dad thought Manisha's daughter Milana was super cute. I hope that doesn't mean that they want another little rat around here. Personally, I think one is enough. Of course, I'm still trying to put her up for sale on Craigslist or ship her to Colombia. Check out the picture with this post. I almost had her shipped.... Fear not, I'll keep trying. I like it better when I rule the roost.
Until next time, stay warm (I LOVE THE SNOW), and take care.
